Patrick J. Collins
Chief Executive Officer
Based in Markham, Ontario, Patrick J. Collins is CEO of LexisNexis Canada. Pat has wide-ranging experience as an executive leader at several media organizations and in the telecommunications, transportation and manufacturing sectors.
Prior to joining LexisNexis, Pat held various roles at Torstar Corporation, including President, CityMedia Group, and Publisher of The Hamilton Spectator. He managed operations of three city newspapers, 12 weekly newspapers and three city magazines with a total weekly circulation of 1.5 million. Previous roles involved providing leadership and support in financial management, information technology, project management and strategy for the $1 billion newspaper operations of Torstar Corporation.
Pat has also served as Vice President, Community and Donor Development, for the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation. A member of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Hamilton, Pat has held numerous Board and Director positions for corporations and non profits.
Pat holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor. He has also completed the General Electric Financial Management Program.
Alan Dingle
Vice President, Marketing and Business Development
Alan Dingle is responsible for strategy and business development, product development and innovation, product management, and marketing activity. Based in the Markham, Ontario, head office, Alan has served the company since 1986, when he joined Quicklaw before it was acquired by LexisNexis in 2002.
At Quicklaw, Alan progressed from various roles in Customer Service and Sales to Vice President, Marketing. He began at LexisNexis as Vice President, Marketing and Communications, and in 2005 moved to a newly created position of Vice President, Corporate Development. In this role, he managed solutions strategy and successfully introduced new products in Client Development, Practice Management and Litigation Services to the Canadian market. Alan is a member of various LexisNexis Group Global committees and is the Canadian representative on LexisNexis Global Solution Line groups.
Well connected with customers and the legal marketplace, Alan regularly attends industry events and manages several relationships with key industry associations.
Alan is a graduate of the law program at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
Sharon Henley
Director, Human Resources
Sharon Henley brings a change management focus to her role as Director, Human Resources, shaping the company’s internal culture to drive business growth. She is based in the Markham, Ontario, head office.
Sharon joined LexisNexis as a human resources coordinator in 1999. Later, as human resources manager, Sharon was instrumental in uniting the business strategies and practices of LexisNexis Butterworths and Quicklaw Inc., which merged in 2002 to become LexisNexis Canada. She consistently draws talented, confident people to the LexisNexis team and continually modernizes the HR structure to help the company become a top global enterprise.
Before joining LexisNexis, Sharon held HR positions at Pitney Bowes and in the Legal Department at Beaver Lumber. Throughout her career, she has progressed to increasingly senior roles.
Sharon holds a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
Dev Mahendran
Vice President, Finance
Dev Mahendran joined LexisNexis Canada in 2009 after serving since early 2008 as Commercial Director in London, England, for the business unit of LexisNexis Europe, Canada, Latin America and Africa (ECLA). As LexisNexis Canada’s Vice President, Finance, based in Markham, Ontario, Dev participates in strategic decision-making and oversees operations in financial analysis, accounting, business planning, fulfillment, manufacturing and distribution, and print-product customer service.
Dev has a strong and diversified background in senior-level financial management, financial planning and analysis, commercial and business analysis, and other management functions. As Commercial Director for LexisNexis ECLA, Dev provided support for the U.K., South African, Canadian, ECLA Practice Management and ECLA Client Development businesses. His accomplishments at LexisNexis have included strengthening the ECLA budgeting and analytical processes and providing invaluable commercial support in a number of areas.
Prior to LexisNexis, Dev worked for the Thomson Reuters group of companies and with Cengage Learning (formerly Thomson Learning), serving in senior financial planning, financial analysis and business analysis positions before stepping into the role of Finance Director for Cengage Learning’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Group. Dev also served as Group Commercial Analyst for Vizzavi Ltd., and earlier in his career as Management Accountant for Omron Electronics Ltd. and as Executive Officer in the Economist division of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, U.K. competition authority.
Dev holds a B.A. (Honours) and a post-graduate certificate in Economics from Middlesex University in London and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Judy Vezmar
CEO, LexisNexis Europe, Canada, Latin America and Africa
Judy Vezmar is Chief Executive Officer of LexisNexis Group ECLA. Judy is responsible for LexisNexis business units in the United Kingdom, continental Europe, Canada, Africa and Latin America. Those business units include LexisNexis Butterworths U.K., LexisNexis France JurisClasseur, and LexisNexis in Poland, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, South Africa, Argentina, Chile and Mexico. She is based in London.
Judy joined LexisNexis from Xerox Corporation where she held various roles including senior vice president & general manager of Financial Services Industry, Xerox Europe. Judy and her team developed and implemented a highly successful strategy to provide industry-focused, full-service solutions to the European financial services industry. Previously, she held various senior positions in the United States, including VPGM, head of strategy and planning and various marketing and sales leadership roles.
Judy holds an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business and marketing from Marian College, Butler University.
